In 1967 Hakim Hamidi presented a comprehensive study of modern coins of Afghanistan. This catalog covered a period of approximately of 83 years (1890 - 1973), starting with the reign of Abdul Rahman Khan through the last monarch, Muhammad Zahir Shah. Mr. Hamidi’s devotion and passion to the field of numismatics allowed him to catalog one of the most comprehensive collection of modern Afghan coinage.
This second edition follows a similar layout as the first one. However, this edition includes several new coins, updated attributes, color photographs, and a historical background of each king.
